The Salisbury Association, located in the Academy Building in Salisbury CT, was organized in 1902, its purpose being to "further the best interests of the town and to protect its natural attractions."

Sandra Boynton is a beloved American cartoonist, children’s author, and songwriter. Her renowned books include Barnyard Dance, But Not the Hippopotamus, Philadelphia Chickens, and The Going to Bed Book.

Awards: A Grammy Award Nomination for the album Philadelphia Chickens, the National Cartoonists Society Greeting Card Award for 1992, the National Cartoonists Society Book Illustration Award for Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits From Way Back Never, the Milton Caniff Lifetime Achievement Award (2008), which is the National Cartoonists Society's highest honor.
